Two pieces...

I woke up this morning before 6am, somewhat inexplicably, with "There is a River in Judea" in my head.
I don't know if that's a thing in the UK, but growing up in North America it was pretty much inescapable; and the plethora of recordings online suggests that it still is.
Listening to it afresh, I was struck by the directness. There's an effficiency to it, almost, and it isn't afraid to repeat a good tune.
It wouldn't do, though, to have it stuck in my head all day. So I'm listening to Bainton's setting of "And I Saw A New Heaven" which is one of my all-time favourite pieces.
